Yet most of us have never been shown to be compassionate and kind towards ourselves, and to make matters worse we have been fed beliefs that to be kind to ourselves is somehow selfish, or will make us lazy.

We may avoid offering care to others for fear of being overwhelmed by their suffering, or we find ourselves becoming exhausted in the process of trying to help.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

I’m Claire, your guide on the pathway to self-compassion. I wholeheartedly believe in the importance of this work – not only at the individual level, but also because it can foster real transformation in the world.

I love the fact that even with all the inner and outer imperfections we can learn to embrace ourselves and our lives, and grow a deep inner confidence that will support us to thrive, not merely survive.

I bring with me nearly two decades of experience teaching mindfulness-based approaches. And I would love to be your guide to living and loving your one, wild and precious life.

About the Course

Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living (MBCL) has been developed by Erick van den Brink and Frits Koster.
The program is grounded in both ancient healing wisdom and modern science to bring about true healing and transformation.

    These are the sessions where you will explore and learn key mindfulness and self-compassion practices and exercises. You will be introduced to some simple concepts and theory that will support your experiential learning. There will also be time to dialogue to help develop and deepen your understanding.

  • Session 1 - The Three Emotional Regulation Systems

    Learn about the evolution of our brain and our innate capacity to be compassionate!
    Learn how to calm your nervous system so you can feel safe, secure and at ease within yourself.

  • Session 2 -Stress Reactions And Self Compassion

    Understand why the fight, flight and freeze response helps us to survive but not to thrive, and the pathways to self-compassion.

  • Session 3 - Inner Patterns

    Learn about the nature of the inner critic and inner patterns that dominate us. You will discover how to compassionately deal with them for greater health and vitality.

  • Session 4 - Embodying Compassion

    Explore the attributes and skills of compassion and discover how to cultivate an ‘Inner Helper’ that will be there for you when you need the support.

  • Session 5 - Self and Other

    Explore the power of self-compassion to heal relationships and how to embody the best possible version of yourself.

  • Session 6 - Growing Happiness

    Explore the theme of common humanity and discover what truly contributes to deep happiness . Learn powerful practices to experience more joy in your life.

  • Session 7 - Retreat Session

    A deeply nourishing ‘retreat’ session to deepen and integrate learning so far.

  • Session 8 - Weaving Wisdom and Compassion into Everyday Life

    Learn how mindful compassion facilitates self-healing and will support you to bring kindness and compassion to ALL the different parts of yourself.

  • Session 9 - Living with Heart

    Learn how to cultivate your ‘inner garden’ so that you can continue to flourish and thrive.
    We will explore how to build a daily practice that will support your resilience and inner resource for the long term.
